MANSFIELD AND DISTRICT – 7 DAYS TO THURSDAY 10th May 2018. (Sent on behalf of Mansfield District Commander Nick Butler).

 

Crimes reported over the past 7 days, 12:00 3rd May – 12:00 10th May 2018.

Berry Hill

 

Burglary dwelling:

A room in shared accommodation on Westfield Lane was entered after the spare key was stolen. A purse containing debit cards was taken.

 

Broomhill

 

Theft from a motor vehicle:

On Thursday 3rd a wallet was stolen from a van parked on Broomhill Lane. The vehicle had been left insecure with the wallet in plain sight on the seat.

 

Both number plates were stolen from a vehicle parked on Westfield Lane overnight on Saturday.

 

Overnight on Wednesday a car parked on Drayton Avenue was broken into by unknown means. It is not known if anything was taken.

 

Cumberlands

 

Burglary other than dwelling:

A male was arrested on Ladybrook Lane in the early hours of Wednesday morning after being found with electrical items stolen from a garage on Hallam Close. The offender had originally been observed behaving in a suspicious manner by a member of the public, who detained him until police arrived.

 

In the early hours of Wednesday morning there was an attempt to break into the shed of a property on Armstrong Road, entry was not gained.

 

Theft from a motor vehicle:

In the early hours of Sunday morning a van parked on Raleigh Road was broken into and a number of power tools stolen, it is not known how entry was gained.

 

Eakring

 

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Friday the wing mirror of a car parked on Maltby Road was damaged. On the same night the wing mirror of a car parked on Smith Street was broken off and in that incident a group of juveniles was seen to cause the damage at around 10pm.

 

Forest Town West

 

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

On the morning of Thursday 10th a rock was thrown at the windscreen of a car driving along Old Mill Lane, shattering the glass.

 

Ladybrook

 

Burglary dwelling:

On Tuesday evening an offender entered a house on Layton Burroughs through the unlocked rear door. The offender went into the hall and stole a purse containing a bank card and paperwork.

 

Theft of a motor vehicle:

A black Kawasaki motor cycle was stolen from Ladybrook Lane on Monday morning.

 

Leeming

 

Burglary dwelling:

Overnight on Friday a house on George Street was entered and a number of items stolen including an Iphone, tobacco and cash. Entry was gained by smashing the glass of a rear door.

 

Lindhurst

 

Theft from a motor vehicle:

On Monday evening a car parked on Clayworth Court was broken into by forcing open the front passenger window. Nothing appears to have been stolen.

 

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

On the afternoon of Thursday 3rd a car parked on Oakwood Road was deliberately scratched along both sides.

 

Oak Tree

 

Burglary dwelling:

Overnight on Saturday a house on Hollingwell Drive was entered through a rear door and the keys to the resident’s vehicle taken. The vehicle was stolen, however it was later recovered by police and a male arrested.

 

Portland

 

Burglary other than dwelling:

On Sunday morning a male posing as a customer entered the office of business premises on Victoria Street and stole a tin containing a small amount of cash.

 

A number of units on the Hermitage Lane industrial estate were broken into overnight on Monday and industrial gardening equipment stolen.

 

Overnight on Wednesday a restaurant, currently under renovation, was broken into after offenders forced open the fire door. It is not known exactly what was taken.

 

Overnight on Friday an attempt was made to force open a business unit on Bleak Hill Way, causing damage to the unit.  

 

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

In the early hours of Sunday morning the wing mirror of a car parked on Cavendish Street was broken off.

 

Priory

 

Criminal damage to a motor vehicle:

Overnight on Friday the wing mirror of a car parked on Mansfield Road was broken off.

 

Town Centre

 

Theft from a motor vehicle:

On Friday a satnav was taken from a car parked in a car park on St. John Street.  Access was gained by smashing the driver’s side window.
