East Bassetlaw officers focus on 4x4’s.
As part of their work against nuisance drivers and riders, East Bassetlaw officers have dealt with 4 drivers who made use of their 4x4 vehicles in woodland around the water splash at Crookford.
The woodland around that location has been an attraction to off road vehicle users in the past and officers have again begun to receive complaints.
In the last week, 4 drivers have been issued Section 59 Warning Notices under the Police Reform Act 2002.
This will enable officers to seize those vehicles over the next 12 months should they be driven off road without the landowners permission, or in a manner that offends against section 3 of the Road Traffic Act.
The use of vehicles at Crookford is limited to the main through route which does include the ford. However driving/riding in the woods and or downstream in the river, is an offence.
Nottinghamshire Police will deal robustly with any offending vehicles/drivers which are reported to them.
